    Hi Mark,

I attended your November 9th morning Seminar at Glamourcon. I hope you don’t mind constructive criticism. I didn’t come away with too much more knowledge than I did when I got there.
Here’s my perspective of the workshop, and also the same of a few others I spoke with.

The first two hours, of the scheduled three hour workshop was mostly showcasing your work and quite a bit of rambling of your experiences in your career. Interesting, but not much seemingly technical or valuable info, sorry. You can usually tell when important info is conveyed to the audience when they’re filling their notepads. Most didn’t even fill half a page.

Luana Lani joined us for about 1 hour and a half. Other than chiming in with a few good pointers, she wasn’t used for a photoshoot or much else.

Mark, you are obviously an incredible photographer and businessman. There’s no question about that. That’s why you draw crowds to your workshops. I just wanted to let you know this particular workshop could’ve been better planned and executed.

I hope you appreciate the feedback and adjust for future seminars. Thank you.

    Louie,

Thanks for the comments, I’m sorry you were unhappy with the seminar. I’d be happy to discuss this directly with you.

But to answer your criticisms I did have some technical difficulties with the sound and slide shows. I apologized for that then and do so again. To make up for it I ran the seminar 30 minutes longer than it was set to last.

I feel like my spending time explaining what and how I deal with models in the Mystique shoots was exactly appropriate since the seminar was about dealing with models. I was not (at least in my opinion) “showcasing my career.” I am sorry you did not get anything out of the description of how and what I do to keep models happy and working with me on a shoot.

Again I am very sorry you did not walk away with lots of information you did not have before attending. If you have any specific questions I’d be more than happy to answer them for you either here, on my yahoo group or directly via email.

I must say that the statements on the comment sheets left by the other attendees do not reflect your opinion, but I am appreciate your feedback.

    Mark

Let me start off by saying, I might have been a little harsh in my review. But most importantly, a big thanks for responding with so much understanding and maturity. You are a better man than I.

Here’s a sample of the promo:
Mark will cover model relations: everything from how to find models, how to talk them out of their clothes, and how to pose them in stunning poses. He will answer all the questions you have about glamour models. He will cover how to plan a shoot in detail and break it all down to simple usable steps.

You did cover these but only from the perspective of a great acclaimed shooter as yourself. Doesn’t help the amateur who doesn’t have the name yet. I was hoping you had some magic catch phrases to get models out of their clothes! Damn’t, I still have to beg. :)

The comment sheets weren’t exactly anonymous but I’m glad you did get some positive reviews.

I was really hoping we’d do some shooting too, especially with the gorgeous Luani. You’ll just have to invite me as an assistant the next time you shoot her!

You don’t have to apologize about the technical difficulties although it’s appreciated. Sh*t happens and yes, it was very good of you to go 30 minutes extra, even though you were pressured to hurry up.

I apologize if I offended anyone. I guess I had too high expectations after driving almost 2 hours to the workshop. Thank you Mark for offering to converse with me outside this forum, very humble of you. Keep up the good work.

Cool site, love the info. I do a lot of research online on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks,

    A definite great read…:)
